Currumbin represents a peaceful haven within the energetic Gold Coast. A densely timbered area, Currumbin takes its name from the Aboriginal word for pine tree. It is located 94 km s-e of Brisbane and home to the 20 ha Currumbin Sanctuary, a National Trust park with 1 400 species of native animals and birds.
